Two foreign enterprises invest in Nhon Hoi wind farm

The management board of Binh Dinh province’s Economic Zone on July 4 licensed two European enterprises to jointly invest in the Nhon Hoi wind power project, which has a total registered capital in excess of US$109 million.

The second phase of the project is scheduled for completion in 2020, with a combined capacity of 61.1 MW.

Vietterracon Investment and Management Co., Ltd and Green Venture Invest AG (Switzerland) are the first two foreign enterprises to be granted licenses for investing in the wind power project in Binh Dinh.

Covering a total area of some 600 hectares, the first phase of the project is scheduled to be fully operational in 2016 with a capacity of 30.55 MW, and the second phase is due to be completed in 2020 to create a combined capacity of 61.1 MW.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade earlier decided to add Nhon Hoi wind power plant project to the Power Development Master Plan of Binh Dinh province for the 2011–2015, with a vision to 2020.

So far, the Nhon Hoi Economic Zone has attracted three licensed wind power projects, with a total designed capacity of 111 MW.
